Does anyone know anything about the laws in qld, i can't seem to find anything out.
We have a surrogate, but our IVF clinic said that its not legal to do a 'commercial' surrogacy.
I have rang the QLD Fertility society, and ACCESS infertility network. But they don't know either :(
If any one knows, it would be a fantastic help!

Hi, the Qld law was passed in parliament in Feb this year however the law is not proclaimed as yet. This part of the law took Victoria 2 years to complete. I believe the law will go to the Governor General for I guess final signing however there are sections of the law will take some time to process. It will take birth, deaths & marriages division approx 3 months to be ready according to articles I have found. It could take sometime in Qld, Commercial surrogacy remain illegal in Queensland The surrogacy process is a long detailed process but truely worth it in the end if it works out.
Wish you all the best. We are trying to head down the same path but need a surrogate.
