Hi Gabriella
I've got PCOS and i have 20 day cycles.
I'm taking every day (excepts when i forget);
2g Chaste tree
Zinc & Magensium
2x multivitamin
Some cycles i have a 28 day cycle when i am super vigilant with taking my pills. But it's a bit hit and miss. Every other cycle is 20 days again.
Is there anything else i can be doing or taking?
I'm not overweight but i do have skin problems and some excess hair which is getting me down.
I have an endocrinologist appointment coming up and i'm not sure whether Metfomin would be beneficial too me.
I prefer taking the natural route but the natural medicine is not helping my hair problem. And i don't think i'm ovulating.
It's getting dissapointing.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi BlueLips,
Thanks for your question. I completely understand how you feel.
The main thing though is that you have found something that works—taking your supplements—regularly. Work on being as compliant as you can with it and in time your cycles and hormones may normalise further.
In regards to your skin there are lots of natural solutions that may help. I get excellent results with my patients using natural methods. I am happy to do a phone consultation with you to sort it out if you desire.
A few things you want to make sure you are doing include:
1) Eating fresh, unprocessed foods;
2) Cutting out processed/junk foods and processed fats out of your diet (this will help skin, hormones and ovulation);
3) Exercise regularly to keep your blood sugar levels nice and even;
4) Drink at least 2L filtered (avoid tap or bottled) water daily;
5) Cut out sugary foods and drinks from your diet (this greatly contributes to breakouts in women with PCOS
6) Normalise your weight (if necessary)
7) Optimise your liver function. A great way to do this is to go to my website and get the recipe for the “Whole Lemon Drink” and enjoy it daily.
There are many more things but this will definitely get you moving in the right direction. Balancing your cycles using herbs is definitely a preferred option from what you mentioned I think opting for any artificial hormonal intervention (eg oral contraceptive pill etc) or even metformin at this stage may be premature.
I hope this helps!
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Gabriella.
I could defnitley be doing more in the areas of drinking water, not earing sugary foods and exercising more.
Will make an effort to do more of this. I'm sure i could get a regular cycle if i commited a bit more time to my health and exercise and diet.
Thanks again
