Wanted: CHEAP child's car seat

I've had to give up the child seat that I have in my car so am desperately in need of another (CHEAP) one. It doesn't have to be in good condition, just needs to be safe & functional, cheap & pretty close to me for pickup. I'm not looking for a booster seat nor does it have to convert to an infant seat, it just needs to be suitable for toddlers.

I have checked the Quokka & ebay but there doesnt seem to be anything :banghead:

Try looking on www.freecycle.org Just register for your city. You can put up a wanted ad. I scored a great safe 'n sound seat for ds, only slightly worn and it was FREE and just around the corner. What a bonus.

I signed up at that website and it said my registration needed to be approved, but it never was :( I went back a few months later to try and re-register but it said that my address was already pending approval. So I guess I can't sign up :(

We just bought a safe-and-sound booster from Targets Toy Sale and bought 3 for $120 when normally one was $80 its great and very sturdy

I'm just looking in the Toy'R'Us Magazine they have a Safe-n-Sound Spirit Booster Seat for $49.99 normally $80 if you are interested.

I have one that you can borrow short term if you are desperate for one, while you try to find another one.

I cant give it up for good just yet as I still need it from time to time.

Thanks little mermaid, that's ok im not desperate because I just use the car seat from the mothers car - it just means swapping it back and forth every time!! But I'm sure I'll find one soon, I'm planning to go to the 2nd hand babyshop on tuesday.:thumbsup:

How much do you want to spend. have a look at the quokka we did and some were in good condition for under $100. We bought a second seat for our car due to the fact we were lazy and couldn't be bothered changing it from one to another and we just happend to look at the BIGW one week and we got one which was normally $224 for $112 its back to its normal price now though :( . Toys'r'us have a few car seats for sale though too

where do you live. nor or sor? i just looked in the quokka there is one in Alexander Heights for $45 (car seat, Series 3, Safe N Sound $45 - part of the ad) CAR SEAT Century upright, suit 8 - 18kg, gd cond $40 ono. Hntngdle - another one,

i got a safe n sound carseat from a good sammy store the other day, it was brand new and only cost me $30. It was the safe n sound discovery carseat. Not one tear.
Im always looking around the second hand stores and i always come across baby prams and baby carseats that have nothing wrong with them and are selling cheapily... so my advice would be get out the phonebook.. list all the good sammy and salvo stores in ure area and visit all of them to see what u find.

If you see a pram with a toddler seat in the stores you look in let me know! I cant find anything in the second hand stores in Ellenbrook and Midland but then i might just not be looking right!

I have one, a 0-4 carseat (GO_SAFE brand) and a booster seat that we no longer need, they are just sitting wrapped in plastic in my mums shed. I'm in rockingham tho. I would like $50 for the carseat and $20 for the booster.

big w for $114 is great. we bought one a few a months ago and they leave the store so quick. there were about 20 in the stack when i got there at 10am when i left at 11:30 there was 3 and when i went back with hubbie that evening there were none left. they look so comfortable (Jess has never complained :p ) and normal price is $228.

and even better I got it for FREE... I was mentioning to someone that I needed to go 2nd hand shopping for one this afternoon, and she said that they had one sitting in their garage that I could have!

It seems to be growing mould (ew) but apart from that there r no tears in the cover & its perfect structurally... so ill just scrub it and it should be fine!! LOL :smiliedance:
