hi everyone, im starting up a family day care soon, so i wont be able to drop and pick up my daugther from school. i was wondering does the school bus (surfside bus line etc) pick/drop the kids up from their homes or at a bus stop?

i think you're best asking the bus line themselves..

my sister catches the local school bus (buslink) and they just have differant stops on differant suburb routes:yes::yes: so on my sister route is stops at alot of differant stops along way- it has mostly high school kids on it but a few primary kids ride it and there parents pick them up from stop.

is there no one else that you know that can pick her up and drop her off? maybe someone who has a child in an older grade even?

Go on the bus company website and look up school runs. It should show you the streets and even a map.

Ive never had a kid dropped at a house always at the bus stop. Both times we've been lucky that it was on the same side as our house and only a few houses away.

Are there any other kids she can walk with? Cant you take the FDC kids for a walk to the bus stop?

You will have to drill, drill, drill to get a front'ish seat, dont stand while its moving and dont sit 3 to a seat. I even had to tell my little guy to move the high schoolers bags off the seats to sit down so he didnt have to stand.

you guys are all so kind to be worried as much as you are, it truely shows there are still kind and generous people in this world.

ill phone the bus company and find out all the info that is needed and my_lot, maybe i will be able to walk to the bus stop with the children, but since im new at FDC, i wasnt sure wat the regulations where, but ill find out

thanks everyone once again

I used to catch a Surfside bus to high- school but it didn't pick me up from my house, just from the bus stop.

The primary school bus I am pretty sure used to stop at individual homes. Leastways, it took a much more suburban route than the high school bus, so it would be a lot CLOSER to kids individual homes even if it didn't go directly to them.

Maybe you could ask the school as well as the bus company? I'm sorry...I don't know what PREP is. Is it the same as kindy? I was in NSW up until high school.

i think prep is new, its called pre-primary school. if for primary school they do drop off closer to the kids homes (which i think they will coz they are younger than high school children) then ill be very happy, then i can just walk outside with the FDC children and not worry, coz the bus stop by my house is a bit far to walk with 4 under 5 children
