My daughter is 9.5 months and I was wanting to have her christened when she is a year old.

The only problem is I am not christened. Does this matter. If so how do I go about getting christened. I'm 25 and I don't really know what it involves. My husband wont shift his butt into gear to help so I guess I'll have to find out the info on my own.

Hope you lovely bubhubbers can help.

Thanks

Tom was christened Uniting church, they didn't ask if we were or not, all that matterd was that we wanted Tom to be.

It's not really a huge deal (although we sorta went nuts and filled the church) all you need is the minister, God parents and a cake

You say about 3 lines, actually the same line 3 times. Then draw a cross on bubs head and light a candle.

 GL

I had Bug christened at Wesley Uniting Church in the city. They didn't care that I wasn't christened but even asked whether I wanted to share the day with Bug. I declined the offer but that was more so that the day was for Bug alone!

We then had a lunch for everyone in Morley afterwards and a bit of a do that night with the family for dinner! We are not the type to have big parties for occasions (except her birthday) but it was still a lovely day!

We had DS christened greek orthodox and my DH had to supply his baptism cert from the greek church and I had to be an "accepted" religon of the orthodox church (im anglican and this was fine).

It depends what church u want ur child christened in. Most churches are fine with the fact that the parent/s aren't christened themselves. Best to just ring ur local church and arrange a meeting.

we had ds1 dedicated rather then christened. i wasnt christened (mum was told by a priest she was a disgrace to society for being a single mum with 2 daughters :() but DP was. so it was more important to Dp's family then mine. so we had a dedication and its pretty much the same thing as a christening just more low key.
