I currently have DD on the playmat and she stares at the mirror and coos and kickes her legs. I read her books almost every night also. DH and I both sing to her and she loves it and trys to join in.

What else can we do during play time?

Walks around the garden, pointing and naming things.
Visit your pets and talk about them, also show toy versions of the same animals and compare i.e here are doggy's ears and here is toy doggy's ears.
make faces
Blow raspberries (they can learn this pretty early, it was one of the first things DD did)
Blow bubbles and let your LO look at them
textural things, soft vs hard etc
You can swing on the swings at the park with your LO on your lap
baby massage
This little piggy, round and round the garden and other active rhymes
Tickles
choose picture books with animals in them and make the animal noises
again picture books with body parts and kiss or blow raspberries on the named parts

Tummy time and just pottering around with her is enough at 10 weeks :)
Doing the cleaning or washing while she's in one arm and telling her about it is great, singing songs and reading are really great activities for this age!

Hi,

Keep giving her lots of tummy time.

Give her different soft toys to hold and show her the different colours etc.

Help her hold and shake any type of rattle/noise maker

Try some baby massage - stroke her legs and arms/roll them between your hands / draw circles on her hands and feet, massage her chest by stroking outwards with your fingertips and clockwise circles on her tummy

Slowly move some objects across her field of vision to help with visual tracking

Walk her around the house and give her the tour - this is the kitchen where we make the dinner and do the dishes

Have fun playing with your littlie

Both my little girls loved playing with my face, or DH's face. I would sit in the bean bag with Bub propped up on my knee, and just let them inspect. They were both fascinated... still are!

Heheh how cute thats a good one. My husband does the same thing. DD is such a social butterfly she likes to stare people in the eyes and she coos. Once at 2am she didn't want to sleep she wanted to converse. :bee:

These suggestions are great! Remember that you don't have to give her too much stimulation, there is nothing wrong with you just lying next to her on the floor and watching her and she can investigate you, or whatever her eyes fall on.
