doctors who circumcise in Brisbane

Hi All,

We'd like to have our DS2 circumised when he's born in around a month time. DS1 was circumised in Sydney in one of the consulting rooms attached to the hospital.

We have since relocated to Brisbane and would love information on any doctors who perform circumcisions in the Brisbane area and feedback you can provide. We're booked at the Mater Mothers Private Hospital for the birth.

Hi there

We faced this same decision when my darling son was born last year. We asked for the advice of our paediatrician who sent us in the direction of a GP in Brisbane who performs them. There was no hurry as they no longer perform these ops in hospital at less than 1 week old, they wait until the baby is 6mths old and can have anaesthesia.

In the meantime we found out to our horror that this same GP is a butcher. Through child health we were referred to a WONDERFUL paediatric surgeon, Dr Deborah Bailey. She works in Nerang Street in Southport and has a wonderful bedside manner. We drew a lot of comfort from the fact that she does these kinds of ops all the time and specialises in children and babies. As it happens, we found out she CORRECTS about ONE PER WEEK of the botched ops done by this same GP.

Needless to say when our second son is born we have asked for a different paediatrician, and we will be going back to Dr Bailey for his op.
