Hi everyone,

I have been expressing as I am going overseas soon and wanted to get some bottles organised for the flight (apparently as bubs need to suck harder, it helps their ears). As a result I have built up my supply so that I can keep expressing 100ml a day and was wondering if anyone knew about donating it to hospitals etc for premmie babies or Mums that can't breastfeed at first. It seems such a waste to chuck it or let the supply go down if it can help just one bub. Has anyone done/heard of this or is this one of my "out there" ideas!?

Thanks :)

There is a breast mik bank operating in Melbourne - I think through one of the royal women's hospital, the royal children's hospital, or maybe the mercy.

I believe they pasteurise the milk to ensure there are no viruses or bacteria in it.
