I noticd it got the best rating for boosters but I can not find any information about it on the internet. It's so weird, no website...nothing. I briefly remember seeing them at Target. Since I'm in the market soon for a booster I want to defintely consider this but would like to know more info about it.
If you have it, do you like it? What's the price? Are these a new seat or have they been around a while?

Thanks,
Jaime

I dont have one but my bestfriend does and she raves about it. She paid $150 for hers and uses it for her 3 yr old. They are quite new. They seem to be similar to the maxirider only it can only be used as a booster seat whereas the maxirider is a 'carseat' then a booster seat. Nifty arm rests, cup holders and adjustable back rest!

hope that helps!

If you are considering one based on the new crash test results, just remember that it can not be used with a H harness and the other seats that it was compared with can be used with a harness but were not tested with the harness. I don't understand why they chose to test them like this but I am guessing that the results would have been very different if the harness was used.

I wasn't aware it couldn't be used with a harness. I wonder why? I can't seem to find any information at all on it on the internet. Does anyone know where the info is listed?

Hi, this is may be too late for you, but I found your enquiry when I was looking for some info on the internet on the HiPod Barcelona booster seat myself (as Target have them on sale Thu 28 Sep 06). My searching also found the HiPod website with some information and a consumer hotline number (which I will call tomorrow). They are manufactured in Australia too. The website address is http://www.hipod.com.au/ Hope this isn't too late to help you.

I was going to buy one but the fact its ONLY to be used with a lap sash belt( I rang HIPOD and thats what they told me) put me right off it. i would prefer to pay the extra money for the safe and sound maxi rider and harness. it has a clip to stop kids from sliding out through the bottom-hipod does not and this is a big concern in accidents. my kids will be in them for a very long time and i want them to last.

and if you don't need the 'convertible-ness' of the MaxiRider, there's always the Safe'n'Sound Peagasus (sp?) which has the antisubmarining clip, can be used with the H harnes and is the tallest booster on the market for a fraction of the MaxiRider's price.

anti submarining stops your child from sliding through the bottom of the seat. i know with the maxi rider it uses the origional bottom buckle u have on convertible baby seat and clips into the harness or seat belt. it goes between the legs so essentially its the same as the 5 point harness in a baby seat. the maxi rider hooks into your car like a baby seat too whereas im not sure if the pegasus does. maxi rider came second best to the hipod in safety tests but they failed to note that its not able to be used with a harness. I have two maxi riders for my kids they are well worth the extra money you can save around $60 if you buy online from www.babyonabudget.com.au

I have the safe n sound advantage booster seat and I love it. It bolts into the car like a baby seat, has the anti submarine clip, can be reclined and can also be used with an H harness. :smiliedance: Plus it doesn't take up most of the back seat!
