Hi, Has anyone tried the Angelcare baby monitor that detects motion and signals you if the baby doesn't move (or breathe) for 20seconds?

I already have a normal monitor and I am not sure if I need to spend the extra money on a motion monitor for a little peace of mind.

If anyone has any feedback about how good or bad these monitors are I would love to hear about it.

thanks debz

Hi debz

I have the angelcare monitor and think its GREAT. It gives hubby and I so much peace of mind. Defs worth the extra $ if you worry about SIDS.

We too have the angelcare monitor and also love it. I know people say that these types of monitors are prone to false alarms but we have never had one. Our DD is now 8 months old. It does work well as when I forget to turn it off when taking DD out of cot it sends off the alarm.

Only thing I did notice is that it is so sensitive that if we have central heating on then the motion of air coming out of vent makes the monitor believe there is movement in the cot. Our vent is very close to the cot though.

Yep,we have one too.
No false alarms, just peace of mind when putting bubs to sleep. :)
A little light flashes everytime bub takes a breath or moves,I was a bit uncertain when we first got it,but I stood there and watched it to make sure it flashed at the same time as bub breathed and it did,it's quite reassuring (sp?) to see.Oh and also the battery backup in case of a power failure.
Definatley worth the money.

I agree. It is the best $200 we ever spent. We love the piece of mind. We have never had a false alarm either, just the forgetting its on and picking bub up only to go to the lounge, sit down and have the alarm go off
