what would be a nickname for Alarna? i like Allanna for the fact it can be shortened to Anna ( and its my sisters middle name, it came from my pop Allan) thats how its spelt, and pronounced Al-anna. maybe i should change the spelling to Alanna

All-arna. For a nickname I would say Ali or Lani.
It's a pretty name!

It depends on where you are from,

Australians are very nasal in their tone, so we would say 'All-arna'

Nicknames would be larni, ally...

I would say Al-ar-na.

I will say though, those names drive me nuts.

In one the creches i work at we have an

Elena - pronounced El-ay-na

and Elana - pronounced El-ena

Lena - pronounced Lee-na

And a mother with a similar name, but I cant remember which variation, but its different again.

:hair:

I used to look after an Alana - pronounced Al-ar-na. And I LOVED her, so by association i LOVE that name. She doesn't recognise me anymore :( but we were pals. Because she was on a different sleep routine to all the other babies, there were times during the day where she was the only one awake and I was the only carer, so we just hung out, she 'helped' me with paperwork (like, drawing on my observations) and came with me around the centre to fetch toys and things for our program.... awwww.... miss her... she's like 3.5 now... and has no idea who I am when i saw her last :( I frightened her a little cos I was "AH! Alana!!! Come here!" and wanted a cuddle. Because, she used to cry for me if I wasn't there :(, instead she just backed up and looked frightened.... sorry honey!!!
