Lone Pine is good. Its a Koala sanctuary but they have a lot of native animals there.
Shopping, I love Chermside but some may disagree. Its all on one level and about 1km long.
There are some nice places to eat at South Bank. Decks is a good family friendly place. There are also the South Bank markets. My absolute fave.
I wanna go back to Brissy now :(
Thanks chicky! We will def go to Southbank, i havent been for a few years... i have lots of shopping to do very restricted here... trying to combine seeing people with places we go to...

Southbank
Mt Cootha
There's a hop-on-hop-off bus tour round brissy, its about $28 for the whole day (don't quote me) & this gets you on the rivercat too, so you can do round trips on the ferry..
Gold Coast!! (if you are there on a sunday, the markets are AWESOME!)
When i think of more I'll come back on

Theme parks (again, easy to get to, you can catch a train & a bus there, very easy to do)
There's a koala sanctuary in brisbane too!

IKEA!!!! :laughing::laughing::laughing:
Take a trip up and down the Brisbane River on a City Cat.
MT Cootha Planetarium and gardens.
Go up the lift inside the City Hall Building for a view of the CBD.
Mt Cootha Look out.
Mt Gravatt Look out.
Roma Street Parklands (has BBQ facilities too).
Shopping Centres: QVB (city), Myer Centre, Indooroopilly, Chermside, Carindale, DFO at Jindalee and also near the Airport.
Queensland Museum. (great for kids)

Queensland Art Gallery.

A day trip to Tangalooma Island is also lovely. You just hop on a Ferry (with or without your car) and it's about 70 mins I think? You can have a day trip pass where you spend 4 hours on the Island and can go Sand Toboganning (heaps of fun), explore the Island etc. They do Dolphin feeding in the evenings.
It's about $45 for adults and $30 for children I think?

IKEA!!!! :laughing::laughing::laughing:
hehehe dont laugh we seriously are going there!!!! I miss IKEA so much and Dh's aunt works there woot woot so here we come!!!
Great ideas girls...not really wanting to do something that takes all day as we will be busy catching up with family and friends mostly and only have 2 whole days and 2 half days there so will be pretty jam packed and not wanting to spend too much time travelling whilst there...
Mainly looking for shopping, eating and great parks etc...

I would say go to Roma St Parkland. Paige loves running around there and going on the walking trails. It is a nice walk past city hall if coming from the Queen St Mall.
Target in the Myer Centre is much better than any of the ones on the Southside of Bris and always good sales on kids stuff. I spend lots of money on the days I am working in the city!
If you want to go on the Brisbane Eye? thing at Southbank look at the shopper dockets site. I think there might be 50% off dockets.
There are a few good cheap book shops for kids books. One is in the centre at the bottom of the mall where BigW is and then I think there is one in the Wintergarden.
DFO at the airport may be worth a look (sometimes there is some good things at Pumpkin Patch). Chermside is prob the best for shopping. I find that the shops in the city arn't as good.
IKEA is fabulous! It is hard living so close, but makes for a good outing.
Some great ideas already though Australia Zoo is a BIG drive, Alma Park zoo is quite close and nice. Enjoy!

I find that I walk around Carindale and never find anything to buy. They have expanded onto Chermside recently which has made it a bit better. I really don't find any of the Brisbane shops good but being big both Chermside & Carindale have a fair few options for shopping.

Oooh that sounds nice will look into it thanks!!!
