So I am thinking of making a couple of PUL bags to throw my wet nappies in when I am out & about.
Has anyone else made any?
Obviously I am going to need some PUL.. how much do you reckon per bag? And will I need any other materials besides the drawstring?
I have no idea. I mean I've made a drawstring bag before, but not with PUL.
thanks in advance.
I dont know, i have a polar fleece one and i am a terrible sewer, maybe Happy Lady can help i think she sews.

I was going to post about the same thing PB! I would suggest getting a nappy or 2 and wrapping paper or other material around it and measuring how much you need - other than that, proceed as for any other drawstring bag I'd say. Some ppl do add a little piece of absorbent material (eg cotton) to the hem of the drawstring bit to put smelly stuff on so the bag doesn't reek too much so you might want to do that if you're keen.
Btw did you get my email? I've been having major computer hassles today so I"m not sure if it really got sent :banghead:

It can be very slippery depending on the type you get, and it's best to use pegs rather than pins - otherwise nothing too tricky unless you're using fleece or elastic with it.
Actually, maybe elastic would be a good closure - what do you think?:detective:
bubbaearth set wetbag kits guys - just a thought... (comes with pul and pull-cord)
have a sticky beak at the site - I think they are only $5 a kit!!!

Don't pin the pul, it will leave holes. And sewing it with a walking foot really helps, as it is slippery and rubbery. I use velcro on mine to close them up.

 you crack my up Mel. I try to sew, I don't sew.
Just a question to all the real sewers. I notice with the cotton PUL that if you have it in a bag all day it soaks through completely, does the same thing happen if you are using it for a wet bag? Would I need to use some polyester PUL instead?

HL - I have two wetbags - both 1/2 patterned - 1/2 plain - and I would DEFINATELY use the polyester PUL next time (I'm kicking myself) - I would prefer solid pul (not the cotton stuff) - I think the poly would also keep smells in better..

Speaking of making things has anyone ever invested in buying a pattern to make your own nappies advertised on ozebaby on the weewuns section? $29.50??? I would need to follow a pattern to be able to attempt to make one but then again I'd probably have to get my sister to make it for me, as I can't sew!!!! Need to learn now that i have a baby.
Hi Donz:wave:
Bubba Earth is at Hendra.
I'm pretty sure you can print off free patterns. I'm pretty sure I got one off nappycino....I'd have to check though. I'm sure someone around here has some great links.

Hi Donz, my computer died and took my links with it, but if you search for WeeWeka pocket nappy pattern there's a good pattern (in pdf) that you can print off for free. :)
