View Full Version : Can your cycle re-start without AF visiting?
I think this could be a stupid question, but I don't understand the biology of a missed period!
If you miss a period, does that mean you need to wait for it to return to start o'ing again, or can your cycle re-start as if you'd actually had your AF?
Thanks!

When discussing permanent contraception with my Ob he did state that O'ing frequently preceded the first AF. So you can get pg before you even know your cycle has started.

When you don't have a period you don't ovulate for that cycle. However you could ovulate again before your next cycle and become pregnant. A period happens because of ovulation. You can have a period without ovulation and this is because the lining builds up so much it eventually sluffs off on its own. A period will always follow ovulation by 12 to 16 days(varies by women to women), so you could ovulate at any given time this cycle. No point in keeping track as ovulation will come as it pleases. Bd atleast every other day just in case your body does decide to ovulate you won't miss it.
