View Full Version : Cot to bed transition
Hi everyone. DS is nearly 16 months and I've started thinking about converting his bot into the toddler bed but I've realised that 9 times out of 10 I find him sleeping accross the bed with his head against the bars  How on earth can I get him to sleep straight so that I can eventually get him into a bed without falling out?!

Thats an easy one ....... You can't:devil6:
DD is 3 and has been in a single bed since 13 months and I still find her in all sorts of weird and wonderful positions across and up and down the bed (often on the very edge) and she rarely falls out. She had a rail till about 20 months then I put a rolled beach towel under her fitted sheet for a few days after removing the rail to remind her where the edge is.
DS is 12 months and has been in a bed since 8 months and is currently asleep across the middle of the bed earlier he was upside down and he started at the top facing as is normal:laughing: well he was asleep sigh.
ETA - neither of mine sleep under the blankets they kick them off - thoug in Darwin the temp isn't a factor will be interesting to see what happens when we move back to brisbane - thicker jammies me thinks.

I have been wondering this too as my DD is the same! She doesn't even know how to sleep under a blanket. She goes in her cot standing up and then settles herself down once we close the door. She's 20 months old but I think a bed is a long way off for her.
