Im a 26 year old mother who recently moved to Buddina/Kawana [Sunshine coast] from New Zealand with my Husband and our 19 Month old daughter.
Were really missing our friends and hoping to find some here that we share simialr interests to. My Husband is a Chiropractor who who loves to surf [also 26] and I was a designer before becoming a full time mother to our little girl; Sailor. I would also love to know of any mother groups in the area because it would nice to have some girl friends to hang out with / talk too. I am a little bit nervous about asking for friends online, its not something that I would usually do, but I dont know how to meet people any other way, so if you have any other suggestions that would be great?! Thanks, Allie alexandra.fagan@gmail.com (alexandra.fagan@gmail.com) facebook : http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=674941569

Hello Allie and welcome to the Sunshine Coast. I moved here about a year and a half ago and havent looked back. It took me a little while to find friends, but I have met some really lovely people up here.

I am up near Noosa, so not really close to you, but we always go to the big playcentre down in Kawana to give the kids a run around. You are more than welcome to meet us there one day?.

My hubby is a personal trainer and I am a Nurse/Mothercraft Nurse, so we are in the healthcare industry too :p

If you want to meet at the playcentre one day, it would be lovely to meet you. :hugs: We go to the playcentre up here in Noosa often too, so you can come up here anytime. PM me if you like or you an email me at claire_margin@hotmail.com

Hi Claire,
Thank you for your email,
That would be lovely to meet you and your family next time that your near here, We thought about taking Sailor [our little girl] to that place on the weekend but didn't know if she was old enough? or if it was more for school aged children? We are currently buying a car and hoping to head up to Noosa for a little adventure in the near future, we really wanted to get there last week for the festival but were not organised enough with the car, did you go? Anyway, next time were up or your down here lets definitly meet up. Thank also for your encouraging words, It hard to come from a life where we had all our freinds and now starting a fresh, but its good for us I suppose, especially if we can make lots of good frineds like we had at home. Anyway hope to catch up soon. thanks, Allie

Hi Allie,
I live at Moffat Beach with my 2yr old son. I'm 24 and currently studying. We moved up here in October last year. Still trying to meet people and make friends. Most people are very friendly!
We would love to meet up for a play also if you're interested. We are not very far from you!
Hope to chat soon!
Amy

Hi Ladies - I'm a 30 year old mum to my 4 year old girl (going on 24). I moved to the Sunshine Coast from interstate last year and haven't met anybody up here as yet. I was working full time but have now finished that so I am hoping to get out and meet some people and hopefully make some great friends. It can be really difficult to meet people especially at this age I find. I would also be keen to attend a mums group with my daughter if anyone has any details. She attends Kindy on a Thurs and Friday so I wouldn't be available those days unless it is after 2:30pm. We live at Caloundra but I am willing to travel to meet up with people. Cheers. Anna :)

Hi All,
It sounds like there are a few of us lonely's [or maybe just me, but everyone else is good to make more friends?]
SO maybe we should arrange a time and a place to all meet up? have a coffee, meet, greet, etc
Somehwere that the children can play would be best? yes? I might even make a public post on the sunshine coast thread part? Is that a good idea? I dont know much about this website.. or if thats a normal thing to do, I just guess the more the merrier?

Hi All - Maybe we could meet up on a Monday for lunch or in the afternoon then? It seems it would probably be the best day for everyone and maybe somewhere central since we all would all have to travel a bit (as some people in Caloundra and some up near Noosa). I don't know - I have never done this before. What do you guys think? :flowerz:

How about somewhere in the middle like Maroochydore. Any suggestions where?

Normally you put the details in a PM, not out in the public forum.

Actual specific details of meets should be kept to PM's  this is a public forum and unfortunately none of us really know who is reading along.
Cheers :)

Welcome to the sunshine coast :)
We moved up last september with our little girl whos now 13 months, and always looking to meet up with new friends with little ones, :) We're in Caloundra and often go Kawana way too. We could organise a little get together if one hasnt been made? Beautiful spots around this way and family friendly with lots of parks and shade :) I'm 28 and currently pregnant with daughter number 2 ! Due August :)
How are you finding it up here so far? :) We love it!!!
