Hi Everyone,
Df and I are looking for a double pram and are both interested in the Phil and Teds double kit and the Steelcraft Strider Plus. But unsure on what to go with and are wanting reveiws on them. As we have 2 single prams at the moment and both of them take up the whole boot. Plus it is harder for me if wanting to go out on my own.
So if you have either a phil and teds or a strider plus.
Please tell me the pros and cons about your pram and if it leaves much space in your boot!
Thanks ladies:wave:

im in same boat as u...
currentley looking at the P&T vibe
or
Strider DLX
ive heard mixed reveiws on both and i think u have to really go look at them both and try them out urself for what works for you
the P&T's are like joggers and you can go running with but what i dont like about them is the toddler seat doesnt have a sun shade like the steelcraft strider, which has the hood on both seats....
also the P&T are obviously more expensive but are probally alot more compact then the strider wich takes up more bootspace, not really an issue for me as we have a ford territory but if u have a small car the p&T mite be a better option for you
also the strider you can have the baby faceing you or away as the whole bit comes off, and with folding down u can take that off to fold it down to make it smaller or you can leave both seats on and fold it down but it takes up alot of room that way and fussing around takeing the seat off and on can be quite annoying....
i like that the strider has teh capsule attachment
i love the bright blue kingfisher colour it comes in but i also like the look of the stylish vibe esp the graffiti :bee:
i think the phills seat are quite small, like skinny, the strider seems to look wider...
the material on the P&T vibe is like a stubbie holder material, it easy cleaning compared to the strider which has that suade-ey style material, which is lovely and soft but would get quite yukky but the phills doesntfeel that soft and comfy but im sure it is
I havent got either. but have been researching ALOT!
Iv desided against either for different reasons.
I wanted a double pram where i could have the wee bub facing me. so that ruled out the P&T
I had my heart set on the strider plus... but when i went and looked at it, there is NO WAY my DS2 (not even 2 yet) would fit in the seat, its tiny! and the width put me off.
so i went back to P&T - its slimmer (instant plus!) the seats are bigger, but i just dont like the thought of the newborn tucked under DS2.
so i went hunting and have desided to spend a little bit extra and get a Baby Jogger City Select (being released in Aus this month) every review i have read has been fantastic, its slim, bub can face me, the seats are a good size, it has something like 18 different seating options... im in looooove!! (youtube it, awesome vids on there!)
i think the phills seat are quite small, like skinny, the strider seems to look wider...
hehe i thought the opposite! :D

Thanks for your replies ladies, Its quite a hard choice. i have test drove both but still unsure ahh why is it so hard when you have a second child.
Do you have the link to the pram you was talking about?
Also whats the cost of that pram??
thank you

is the strider PLUS different to the strider DLX? deluxe?
i dont know if there much difference between them but i think the strider dlx is wider then the toddler seat on pt which is slim, i dunno i know there a few different striders so the one u are talking about mite have a skinny seat i just assumed they were all similar the striders?
yep the Plus is different to the DLX - as far as im aware, the DLX has a toddler seat but not the same style as the Plus/P&T
HERES (http://www.ratedbymom.com/2009/09/baby-jogger-new-city-select-stroller-coming-soon/) the link to the Baby Jogger City Select - as far as i know its going to be about $1200 (incl doubles kit) for the first month, then drop to about $950

Im not to sure. I saw the strider plus yesterday at baby bunting and i didnt get much info on it as the woman that was ment to help me ( asked for her help before hand) went and helped someone else.
i have read a reveiw that some one said that the seat was small. But still unsure as both my children are a small build. im doing research now lol

i have a vibe and just the other day i met a lady with a strider Plus, imo the plus is alot better.
The back seat (from bubs 4mth-ish +) can be reclined heaps in the stider model, it can lay pretty much flat.
The back seat also has a hood which is a big flaw in the vibe
The strider seat also looks alot comfier more padding and extra bits to it.
And im pretty sure (not 100%) she had the top seat facing her and the back seat on, i cant find any pics of this online though so i might have seen wrong
Oh and the price is a big  too. if u type strider plus into a search engine theres a site dedicated to showing u how it works, all the diff ways it can be used. looks like a great pram

The Strider DLX doesn't have a toddler seat option, it has been replaced by the Strider Plus. The DLX has all the same features otherwise - reversible seat, capsule & bassinet options. But no toddler seat.
We're going to get the Strider Plus 3 (3 wheeler version) when it comes out mid April. I don't like the idea of putting a little baby in the P&T (either first or 2nd bub), it just looks too a) big for them in the main pram and b) awkward the way you have to arrange the toddler seat for a newborn. Also for me the reversible seat and capsule option are big priorities. I think the toddler seat on the Strider is a lot nicer too, better recline, and looks bigger and more comfy than the P&T.
But everyone is different, and there is no perfect pram for everyone! Good luck choosing!

I bought the p and t's dash, was going to get the vibe but was steered away from it by sales staff as they had so many returned for being faulty -I used it twice before DD3 was born, so just as a single pram and then I went and bought a Strider plus and I LOVE IT!!! The Strider is wider than the p & t but it is so much more stable, much better quality, second seat reclines to nearly lying flat, seats can face each other and main seat can face you. If the child in the main seat wants to get out and walk, you can leave the other in the second seat. (Can't do this in the p &t's because of balance issues). I talk this pram walking nearly everyday and it is fantastic, really easy to steer etc and although it is wide, I haven't had a checkout/store aisle that it is too wide for yet. I have a Subaru outback and it probably takes up half my boot, not much more space than the phil and teds took. The phil and teds is gathering dust in DD2's room and the Strider Plus goes out and about everyday!

Thanks you your reveiws ladies I'm still interested in the Strider plus as i need a pram asap as i havent been out for a walk since bub has been born as df is working so much.
cherryberry- If you dont mind me asking How much did you buy your strider for with the 2nd seat.? Also have you had any problems with your pram? As i have heard they have a slight wobble?
Thank you

Mummy2lilly - I paid $688 for the Pram and toddler seat, has been fine so far, no wobble. I use it pretty much everyday both round the shops and on long walks and haven't had any problems with it yet. But I have only been using it since DD3 was born 8 weeks ago. The other thing I like about it is the shopping basket has zips in the front and sides so you can access it when the toddler seat is on. (Steelcraft should give me a sales position! )
OP:
I have the Strider Plus, I love it I think it is the best pram I have ever owned.
I thought I was getting ahead of myself buying a pram when DS is 2 1/2yo already but since using it I AM IN LOVE... originally only planned to buy a Strider once I was UTD for our next bubba but I am impatient...
When i bought my pram i got the deluxe thinking $70 cheaper looks basically the same and had to take it back because it made a tapping noise when you pushed it round (it was assumed there were 2 bits of metal in one of the hinges/joins that were hitting each other) so when I had to drive 2 1/2 hours back to Geelong to swap it I figured it may be a sign that I was meant to get PLUS instead (took me an hour in the shop to decide which one to get) and I was right, couldn't be happier with the plus in principal there is no major difference in the 2 prams but here is my opinions:
Seat is same in both, my 2 1/2 yo is tall (people assume he is 4ish) he sit/sleeps in it so comfortably loves pulling the hood over and "hiding"
Plus can take 2nd seat and both kids have a good view. Deluxe is for 1 kid only
Plus under basket is better by far, they are similar in size but Plus has zips on sides and front so you can get stuff no matter what position pram seat is in. the deluxe is only accessible from back.
deluxe has a bar that runs through middle of under basket and Plus doesn't, the bar annoyed me and limited what can be put in IMO
Handle on deluxe slides up/down but stays on same angle, Plus has 'movable' handle that you push button on either side then move handle up or down IYKWIM.
Overall there are only small differences but for me makes the extra $$ for the Plus worth it.
HTH.
(Steelcraft should give me a sales position! )
You should talk to them your definately doing well, I see your a Warrnambool Mum too COOL I am not alone...:yelclap:

:crying: I want the city jogger :crying:
And just adding my 2 cents... dont get an adventure buggy
I've never owned either, but I'd used phil and teds when nannying, and I wouldn't buy one...
And the strider looks good, just a bit wide, it wont fit through some check outs, but then, with any pram youll face that trouble from time to time.
I've been meaning to stop random people in the street and ask them if they like their strider plus - considering heaps of people stop and ask me about my adventure buggy - though its usually people with mountain buggies wanting to know where I got my toddler seat  sorry!

I am also in the same boat. DS is 15 months and we are expecting bub in Oct.
I Hate the thought of getting a p&t pram. So I have tested out the Strider Plus & the Baby city jogger select.
Fell in love with the strider but store lady in baby bunting told me that because my DS is VERY tall for his age he will outgrow the strider too fast and she continued to try to push me into buying the P&T (which i was not going to do!)
The city jogger select was not what i was expecting either due to DS in the back seat able to reach the foot rest /hood, depending which way you have top seat facing and he was yanking the seat at the top.So that one is crossed off the list as a NO!!
I think i'd still like to buy the strider plus as the seats are WAY more comfortable than the p&t and it is the most stable pram i have ever seen!!!
What are your thoughts?
