I was wondering what everyones experiences with coming off the pill is, and how long after you stop did you get your first period? Please also let me know how long you were on the pill before you stopped.

It's my first month off the pill after nearly 8years so I'm not really sure what's normal and what's not.

I was on the pill for about 5 years, and almost as soon as I stopped I got breakthrough bleeding, and fell pregnant two weeks later.

I was on the minipill for 6 months after DS was born, and got AF immediately (was actually getting AF every two weeks the whole time I was on it anyway) and two weeks after I came off it I fell pregnant.

Before that I was on the depo provera injection for almost 10 years, it took three months to get a period back, 9 months for the periods to become regular, and 18 months to fall pregant.

I just realised I didn't explain myself very well, I was on the pill, fell pregnant so came of, and went straight back on after I gave birth, now 1 year later I've come off for the first time (except for when pregnant) and still waiting for my period... Was just wondering what other people experience!

i was on the pill for 13 years and when i decided to go off it, it was 6 months before i got a period again. It has been like clock work ever since though.

I was on the pill for 6 or 8 years continuously (had a 6 month break prior to that and had been on it for about 6 years before that) and I ovulated the first month off the pill and had my period about 30 days after going off the pill (as expected). I was pregnant in month #3.

Then last year I went off the pill twice after going back on it when my ds turned 1. My cycles last year were up to 45 days (2 of the 5) but they were probably stress/illness related.

Basically it depends on what your cycles were like before you went on the pill. If they were regular, then you'll probably go back to regular cycles pretty much straight away. If they were irregular then your first cycle could occur at any time.

I was on the pill for 12 years without a break. My first cycle off the pill was 70 days. Its taken quite a while to get into a somewhat normal pattern, and at the moment I average 34 days.

I was on the Pill for about two years. My first period took 18 months to arrive, but the reason for that is out at work right now.
