Hey, ive just started studying full time at uni and recieve the pension education payments and pps. I also get the child care payments but am wondering if i am able to get the JET payment?? I am still on maternity leave from my preious job but dont plan to return (im in qld its in melb lol), it also finish the end of this month but i havent quit (they pretty much know im not returning). Everything i read says about employement pathway plan, does that mean you have to be on some plan like you are when on newstart allowance?? I was never given any information about JET when i applied for child care payments. A little info would be soooo much help
Thanks :)

I am on jet and studying full time at uni. I just had to fill in the forms and sign a study plan basically just outlining what I'm doing.

As far as i am aware, if you are studying full time or part time and a single parent, you will be entitled to Jet. You only pay 10c per hour for child care. Ring Centrelink and they will send you out the forms to fill out and apply for it. Not sure about the maternity leave though, how that would work, you might have to wait until it has finished.

Yep, the Employment Pathway Plan is just like the activity agreement you do on Youth Allowance (Job seeker) or Newstart.
Do you receive Child Care Benefit (CCB) at the maximum rate? If so I would most definitely think you would be eligible.
Centrelink seems to try their best not to tell you about fantastic assistance such as JET :D
First step is to go into Centrelink tomorrow and get an Employment Pathway Plan drawn up, once that is done you can either apply for JET in person or over the phone. Start the process ASAP and spread the word to friends who might not have heard about it

There is also a wealth info on the Centrelink website re:JEt
I am pretty sure you will have to resign.
