I would really appreciate if anyone has any possible answers to my questions...

I have been TTC #2 for about a year now (DD took around 2 years to conceive naturally). This time I am trying fertility charting and OPK combination.

This is only the 2nd month I have been taking my temperature, the first month I ovulated on day 19. This 2nd month I totally missed it (I think) on the OPK, FF thinks I ovulated on day 10. Also my temperatures are lower than they were the previous month.

Are such big variances normal? I have noticed with my cycle timings that every second month seems to be longer than the previous.

I would like to go and see someone, but I don't really have a clue where to start. I am in Brisbane south, new to the area and don't even have a GP yet. Do you need a referral to go to an expert. I was thinking that Clomid might be right for me, can a GP prescript that or is it an Ob/Gyn thing?

Any help much appreciated! DD is 21 months now and I only wanted a 2 year gap - I also wanted 3 children and I am not getting any younger...

Hi Jo-ann,
I went to a Medical Centre in the Brisbane CBD, next to GPO in Manor Apartments building, think its called City Medical Centre, initially who sent me to have blood tests and to see if I had ovulated in that month, think it was about 2 days after ovulation going by my 28day cycle. Hubby also sent to have a semen analysis done
Then because doc couldnt see any medical problems I was then refered to City Fertility Centre, Dr Julie Lindstrom at Wickham Tce.
Pretty sure the fertility specialist will prescribe Clomid not a medical practitioner. They then send you to a series of other tests, scans, ultrasounds to suit you and then discuss your options. Finding the experience not as scary as I intially thought it would be.

Hi Jo - I have also noticed that my cycle varies between a 13 and 19 day luteal phase every second month but I seem to o about the same time each month.
We have been trying for around 7 months for #1 and if we have no luck again this month I am making an appointment for the both of us to get checked out. The same tests that Bobby mentioned - to check that I do ovulate (pretty sure I do because of my FF chart) and also to check that dh's swimmers are ok. After that I am thinking of seeing a herbalist. Good luck with everything ;)
