Ok so what about this place ladies, anyone been to it for a cocktail style wedding before?
Hi Kristy,
been here for numerous weddings and functions, great view, great food, can be a cold (atmosphere) if your looking for an intimate setting for cocktails tho. Have you considered some of the vineyards around? We had our Wedding at Moorilla and it was beautiful, Have been to a couple at Meadowbank just gorgeous and home hill devine these are great for a cocktail theme Just my opinion tho sorry if it offends.

No does not offend at all! I like to hear all input!
We don't want to go anywhere further than Hobart or past Margate way.

Ive been to the confence center a few times but not to weddings....its a but ordinary though..... Just my personal experience....and quiet expensive.
What about the vineyard in Margate? They have started doing weddings and things now....they always have functions there, so they must be OK.
Have you asked the Beach about booking out the whole resturant? I'm pretty sure they would be able to get 90 people in up top.....
ooh the Beach is just gorgeous, and upstairs is just to die for. the have really nice drinks a nibbles there also, not sure on price??

When we went there to get prices it was around 40-50 seated....so maybe 80 standing room only....maybe a bit crowded.
Also one of Kristy's good friends had her wedding reception there.....so maybe a no go?.....though I suppose if that was a problem where would anyone get married in Tassie eh?

LOL yep! you are right!!
You could always do what we did and hire somewhere like the town hall, then get someone to cater! Salters provide everything you need, and I belive they will set it up for you too for a little extra.
Are you paying for people, or asking them to pay or contribute toward the reception/meal/cocktails in lieu of a pressent? :)

No we are paying for the meals, might do a registry at a travel agent or something instead of a gift registry.
Well Beach is booked for that day now anyways, so looks like we are going to end up on the wharfe. Have heard good things about that place. Pear Ridge was way to small..
