My 7months old dd will not take a bottle. I do not want to wean from BF, just want her to take the occasional bottle so I can attented upcoming weddings with out her and pick up some time at work (leaving her with nanna).

Until 3 months she took 3-4 bottles of formula and then I think I let time lapse took much and 1 month later she would not even contemplate it. I also tried EBM. She just won't even latch on to a bottle properly no matter what is in it. This morning I triend a scoop of formula in her cereal and she wuold not eat it.

I am thinking of trying her straight on cup as it will only be 1-2 feeds she is missing out on each time but this will not offer the comfort if she wakes at night.

ds had no problem taking emb and eventually formula from a bottle so really am stuck with ideas.

Any help appreciated!

My 17 month old never ever EVER took a bottle. He just wouldn't, refused flat out.

At around 8 months I introduced him to the idea of a straw cup - the cheapo dinkee ones you can get from coles/woolies etc. It didn't take him long to get the gist of it and I introduced him to drinking water from that cup. You can also get 'sipper' style dinkee cups, which is what he now uses for milk, and has done for a few months.

I would recommend either of those, they were the only things that worked for us :)

I'd try going straight to some form of cup.

I don't think there is much choice.

If you haven't tried it, you could try a Pigeon peristaltic nipple, but my DS thought that was OK for about a week with EBM, and now has decided to hold out for the real packaging again, so I've given up for the moment.

Like aardvark said, maybe try a perstilactic nipple teat from Pigeon.
My 9mth old was not interested in cups or bottles then I just recently bought this one. He loves sucking on it and I worry less at least.
