View Full Version : Can u get in to see your Paed?
Well up until about 10 minutes ago, I was in limbo with my poor DD...she is 5 months old and we have been having probs with her skin (ezcema) and reflux....the past week has been a shocker with her not taking bottles very well...lucky to get 4 x 180 bottles of which only half are getting drunk. Anyway my doctor is wonderful and has been dealing with the situation very well.....wanted to get a second opinion from my paed and the earliest I can get in is NOVEMBER:eek: ...well DD will have faded away to nothing by then! Anyway, I just had her weighed this morning and she has lost 150grams....so rang my GP back and they got action stations happening...I am seeing a different paed at 3pm today!
What does it take to see your paed? and am I being silly that I want to get this sorted out soone rather than later....fussing on bottles, not drinking, chucking, ankles bleeding and weeping from ezcema...but she is generally happy!

No way, you're not overreacting at all. Obviously the doc feels that it's worth going to the paed earlier too so go with it. Also, it's good to try out a different paed if your is so hard to get in to. It's nie to have an option to see someone immediately rather than waiting 4 months! Good luck, I'm sure you're little DD will be fine.
my sons paed is hard to get into too so if i think its serious enough i take him to the g.c hospital as they have lots of paeds there. was it dr davis she was booked into? he is good but popular
It was Dr Pincus who I love with all my heart but ironically I can get into Dr Davis this arvo...a cancellation! I just don't understand why my usual paed couldnt do what Dr Davis doing? This is my 2nd thru Dr Pincus so thought they might do something....anyway, it will be nice to get another opinion on the whole thing
god love him but have a good laugh at dr davis's dress style, you'll know wat i mean when you get there lol.
my son was seeing the hospital paeds for a while when he was very little and when they found out i got him into dr davis the head of the childrens ward was very happy as he has a great reputation. he was very thorough with jake. when we first saw him we were in his office for over an hour and he organised every test so im sure you will be happy. one thing to be aware of he calls a spade a a spade. if he does not agree to something you are doing he will tell you...but i guress thats his job
Thanks Sue...now I'm scared to go...because I hope I don't burst out laughing! Is he older?? Gosh this will be very interesting to see....I hope I don't feel like I am back in school again!
he likes parted hair, big glasses and BOW TIES all on a 40 kilo frame

I see Dr Davis too and he's great. He's very 'old school' with his approach, and definitely tells you like it is. He is VERY thorough and we were lucky enough that he was on call when we took my bub in after he somehow got salmonella poisoning (horrible horrible time). Good luck!

my ds's pead is dr sanderson :) she treated ds in SCN and she is great but often its a 2 week wait for an appointment coz everyone likes her lol
How is dear little Ruby doing???
I rang up my Paed to book in for my DD's upcoming 12mth check up and thought I might be ringing early, 6-8 weeks ahead, but his secretary said he was booked up until then, so lucky I rang when I did!! We're seeing him in just over two weeks.
