Does anyone know of a bank or lender, who loans out money to someone who is Self Employed?

I am self employed and live off centrelink payments and am trying to get a loan to consolidate my debt which I had after I stopped full-time work and I have not had any luck so far.

Its very hard trying to get a loan, if anyone else knows of a bank that would be fantastic, or does the government have anything to help mothers in this situation (I doubt it, but thought I should ask)

Any help would be great.

Thanks

hi my sister has just spoke to GE Money for a personal loan for the same thing. she is self employed, and is on her own and they are willing to lend her money. although they did want to use her house as security.
not sure if you HAVE to be a home owner.
Her other half is the one in the house but still in both names so she doesnt want to do it. but you could give them a ring and ask.

I dont know whether this is possible for you or not but my husband and I made ourselves employees of our own company. Thats what our bank manager told us to do and we pay ourselves a weekly wage and therefore dont put down that we are self employed even though technically we are. Good Luck!!

that will only work if you have an actual company. A sole trader cannot pay wages to themself and be an employee, neither can a partner in a partnership be an employee of that partnership.
