My 16 month old daughter is terribly constipated. It has only just been brought to our attention, & she has been screaming for the last 10 minutes, trying to poo...

I know coloxyl is meant for constipation, but is there anything I can do right now while she is ready to poo but nothing is coming out?

It's heartbreaking watching her go through this

Cheers

Go to the chemist and buy an infant suppository. The poo should come out within 5 - 15 mins.

I hope she's feeling better.

To prevent constipation you don't need to use coloxyl (although it sounds like a good idea for the next few days), you should just increase pear or apricot intake and keep up the fluids. I buy the puree jars of pear & banana to deal with my ds's constipation. He loves them and if I think he's heading down the route of getting constipated he has a jar of that and he's better :)
