I was emailed this link to check out, and anyone with young kids should see it.....

Check it out.......... It is amazing how dangerous it is and they dont have that type of warning labelled on it......
ohhh wow.... that's terrible!
I have often seen the Magnetix toys and thought they looked a lot of fun (like lego) but if the magnets do get ingested by a little baby then the damage is awful!
Thanks for the warning!
OMG!!!! Well I wont be buying these and I wont be letting any of my kids near them.

Can you believe I went to a 2 years olds birthday party a few months ago & one of these toys was given as a gift!!:banghead:
I dont know why people would give something like that to such a young child, people dont seem to care about the age warnings or warnings that state 'contains small parts'.
The company definately need to be held accountable if the toy was defective.

Wow!!! This is my standard birthday gift for boys when Jesse's invited to a party...I just always thought "great toy...hours of quiet imaginative play" - now I'm not so sure...

that's sad !! :crying: What is the age requirement for Magnetics ?
There is a warning on the box that has the usual "not suitable for children under 3 due to small parts" with a choking hazard warning but if swallowed can do a lot more harm. There should be a larger warning about the dangers of magnet swallowing.

I agree fully that's why I thought I should post this on for all bub hubbers to see......it should be passed on to anyone you know with kids too, as its not only infants that put things in their mouths, older kids do too, and this is more than just choking on a small part, it's deadly........and has no warnings about the damage swallowing a magnet can do.........
holy dooley! I expected it to be a choking hazard and had an eyeroll before I watched the video.
But that's just.. omg.. I can't believe it!

The warning on the box for children under 3...does anyone take any notice of those? That warning is virtually on every toy that you buy - it's just the stock standard warning.

Jacob got these for his birthday last year......I can't see a problem with them for over 6yr olds. But they really shouldn't be given to younger kids as kids can and will put things in their mouths.

I always look at these, the magnetics were a gift for his 3rd birthday from his nanna. But this child in the hospital was 5yrs old?? So that render the warning useless.

It states that it is a choking hazard, there is no warning about how powerful the magnets are and the damage they can do.... There are alot of parents out there with older kids, that it could also happen to, young kids are not the only ones that put things in their mouth I'm sorry to say.
And one of the children injured was 5.........above the under 3 warning age....

Meme - it will play some hurricane thing for a while first and then go into the story..... the magnets come loose and if ingested they can attract to each other at different places in the intestine pinning it together and possibly wearing through to let bacteria leak out of bowel and into body- causing possible death

i was planning on buying those for my boys soon...
will definetly wait until they are older now...
tho would certainly supervise them... i dont know that its worth dismissing the product altogether, because lots of things have dangers attached to them but also have benefits...
i have an unfenced yard, but it is my role to make sure they are appropriately supervised while playing outside... & wear there helmet while bike riding etc...
thanx so much for posting that...
its amazing the things that can happen to our bodies..
i will also be warning others i know..:shame:

Holy cr@p!
I almost bought some of this for one of Rachel's friend's birthday ... but then I didn't because he has a one-year-old brother. I'm glad now!
I noticed some of the boxes said 3+ and some said 6+ and I couldn't really tell the difference - maybe they have just upped the age warning in response to these incidents?
I still do think it looks like a cool toy ... but not till every child in the household is old enough to understand the dangers of magnets
OMG! How horrible! :(
