This morning i had an ultrasound - part of the investigations into pcos. It started off ok - the lady doing it was lovely and i felt quite comfortable with her doing it. It took quite a while and she eventually told me despite prodding and poking that she couldnt find my left ovary! and had another lady come in and take a further look with her - pronouncing something was wrong with my uterus and it must be hiding my ovary - she was a little alarming. So i was told i had to have an internal ultrasound. Fine with me - all i wanted to do was pee!:D
So after using the bathroom i had to have the internal. It was the most painfull experience of my life nothinh like the pain of broken limbs - i felt like she was using something the size of an elephants foot! It took her a further 30 minutes and she could tell it was painful so again had to get a second opinion and asked the other lady back in. By now im in agony and just wanted it over. In the end the original lady who i still think was lovely and doing a fine job told me they still couldnt find my left ovary but were concerned with my right fallopian tube.
So - i will find out the results next week, im not expecting them to be fab but im trying to stay relaxed till then. The internal did leave me feeling very faint for hours, great for being at work!
Im actually glad she didnt keep me in the dark and explained what she was doing - also going as far as to say she couldnt actually see any cysts on my right ovary but would have to wait to get blood results as they were more accurate!
