Hi Everyone!
Just on here to quickly ask a question for a friend who has been ttc for approx 7 years...
Does anyone recommend a good acupuncturist for ppl going thru IVF?
It doesn't matter on the location as long as it is in Victoria.... just want one that has had a high success rate!
Thanks!

Hi andrea.
You asked if anybody knows of a good accupuncurist in victoria. We have just found out that I have poor egg quality. A mothers group mum has just put me onto one in geelong, she is know 18weeks pregnant she doesn't think that she helped her. Her friend also swears by her, so we are of to her in two weeks.
Had you heard that accupunture was beneficial in pregnancy, also is that how you got pregnant?
Speak soon I hope

Hi Andrea,

I have not started IVF (may be soon) but can recommend Mychelle Whitewood and Kings Arcade Chinese Medicine in Armadale, Melbourne.
She is a great practitioner and healer, and a wonderful person, and seeing her has improved my well being in so many ways.

I have been seeing her to prepare my body and mind!! for IVF. Using Chinese medicine & acupuncture to treat infertility isn't a fast process though. They ask you to allow 6-9 months for regular treatment to right the imbalances that may be causing infertility. They look at physical and emotional blockages, general health and nutrition etc.. It can be (for me) quite an emotional process that has helped me to come to terms with infertility etc..

I started seeing her because I read that some IVF clinics in the US have in house acupuncturists for before & after implantation, which improves the success rate. I also read that Repro-Med in Adelaide do a similar thing.

Does anyone know what Monash IVF's view is on acupuncture in conjunction with IVF?

Good luck to your friend,
India

Thanks for all your replies....
I have not used acupuncture myself....
But I hear it is very good and might even try it if I decide to go back for #2 LOL
I am not sure on Monash IVFs view on acupuncture... I think it depends on your IVF Doc.... each have different ideas, etc.... I think that whatever you do, always consult your IVF Doc....
My friend lives in country Vic and has since been recommended someone about 60kms from her... so that isn't too bad! And she is also going to try Reiki.
