Some of the cakes and cupcakes I make have a bit of a 'wet bottom' like I've added too much butter.I've tried adding a little less butter than suggested, but it doesn't seem to solve the issue.Anyone else go through this? What could be the cause?

Maybe it's your oven or the type of pan you use.

I made some last night, put them in a silicone muffin tray and on the bottom shelf and they came out perfectly...? :detective:

If I leave cupcakes in the tray too long after pulling them out of the oven the bottoms are wet. Maybe try putting them on a cooling rack as soon as they're out so they have a chance to "dry out" a bit more.

I second the cooling rack idea. That should fix it :)

So what they say about leaving cakes/cupcakes in the pan until cool and then moving them onto a wire rack is incorrect? This is so confusing :hair:

I was watching Martha Stewart yetserdasy, and she stated that if cup cakes are moist on the bottom, take them out of the pans ASAP and put them on the wire racks (remove the paper) this will stop the condensation, hense making them less mosit------hope this helps
