View Full Version : Skin Rashes, Eczema & Dermatitis
As I suffer from Mild etopic eczema, it seems that my daughter may suffer to. She is 4.5 months old and I have noticed that her skin has mild patches of rash which may be eczema. Can any suggest anything that would be great to us in her bath and also on her skin? Someone did mention to me that QV bath oil is great in the bath. I believe from trying a few different one's since she was born that Johnsons seems to flare it up more. Does anyone know much about QV for Kids or QV in general or other brands that may be great?
In the past I would have suggested Dermaveen which is great for the dermatitis I get on my hands and was always great for dd's skin, but I used it on my ds and it made him get rashes.
My DD has had sensitive skin since birth. Johnsons products are definately the worst thing.
I use QV creams for her which were recommended to me by a midwife. They are free from any nasties like alcohol, perfumes, etc and are ph balanced. They are very good on rashy sensitive skin and very effective in providing mositure and releif without stinging. You buy it from the chemist, there is a whole range of QV products for kids and adults. I agree bath oil is way better than soap, I used plain olive oil from the kitchen - just 3 or 4 drops in her bath water.
I only bathed DD every 2nd or 3rd day to help also I found that direct contact with our carpet (wool blend) or sheepskin would cause her skin to flare up. And the usual culprits which i am sure you are aware of like washing powders & napisan, I would wash clothes with napisan but rinse twice.
