Weaning Help

Where can I get good info on weaning DS onto a bottle! Have dropped him down to 2 breast feeds a day the 1st and last of the day and 2 formuls bottles a day! I was expressing just when I felt uncomfortable which was every second day! I now have mastitis and am on antibiotics but never felt any lumps or any symptoms just was tender and so went to doc as my temp was up as well. Am on antibiotics now as well. Should I be expressing everyday? I just don't want to encourage milk production. He is doing well just the evening 1830 bottle he doesn't reallty take much 70 - 100 mls. I don't want mastitis again after this episode.

When you're weaning it's best just to express a very small amount to get rid of pain or lumps. That's usual anyway. But if you got mastitis without any pain or lumps first then I'm not so sure.

I wouldn't choose to express more than 50ml or so.

I didn't have any lumps just painful breast when I touched it it was like it was sunburnt. They were a bit hard a couple of days but not lumpy so to speak! Yeh 50 mls was what i got twice yesterday.
