Hi ladies,
Does anyone have any flourless recipes they would like to share with me? I am one of these people who gain weight even looking at carbs, so I'm trying to cut sugar and flour out of my diet....sugar is easy to substitute with sweetners, but flour....not so easy!
Anyone got any nice recipies?
Thanks!
Kat :D

Hi there,
I don't have access to any of my recipes at the moment, but look for cakes which have a lot of almond meal in them. I'm not sure if you can substitute it directly, but I have an orange and a chocolate cake recipe which are flourless and have a lot of almond meal in them to keep them dense.

any good chocolate roulade recipe shouldnt use flour...see Delia Smith's website...or books...um and pavlova should be flourless too- though this doesnt help your sugar intake!! Actually if you making things from scratch ie:not flavour mixes very easy to cook without flour...alot of good chefs books/websites will just naturally not use flour as thickener...tomato paste and mustard powder are both thickeners...if you say what kind of food you looking to cook I will find some recipes for you as have tons of gluten/wheat free books, as well as carb free books and lots of other recipe books that dont use much flour...or if you google on flourless recipes should be able to find something...ground almonds work great in cake - but if you looking to lose weight use in moderation :)

Zuchinni & Silverbeet bake (sounds gross tastes great)
5 eggs
4-5 zuchinni
5-6 medium silverbeet leaves (cut stalks off boil for 5 min and slice them)
1 onion diced finely
mushrooms 3-4
cheese (optional) Sprinkle on top
Put everything in a bowl mix it then bake in a dish at 180 for 35-45 min and its done, like a quiche but with no flour and heaps of iron
It really does taste great too!

Have you looked at any low GI meal ideas? I'm on a low GI diet due to gestational diabetes (boo hiss), but it really makes it alot easier not to put weight on. I've found that my body is much happier having a nice steady flow of the good carbs, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on everything.
