Hi all - we have a TS Astra Hatch (the ones built between about 1999 and 2004).

We live in the country and no stores around here sell Mountain Buggy - so we are hoping someone can tell us if they fit in the boot of an atstra hatch?

In particular - does it fit with the rear wheels up against the rear of the car, with the front resting up on the back seat?

The strap to secure the baby seat is going to be on one side and will get in the way of it going in sideways.

We have worked out that the Baby Jogger City Elite will fit, but I'd prefer to buy a second hand mountain buggy if I can.

Appreciate any help I can get...

Tim

Yes. I had an Astra TS ('03) hatch & we have a Mountain Buggy Urban Elite.

I think from memory, we used to take the front wheel off which made it fit much easier, but it does fit ok. Suprisingly the mountain buggy folds up pretty flat.

Can thoroughly recommend this pram. We love ours (especially on "rough terrain"!)

They just seem so much sturdier than other similar prams on the market. We also bought the rain cover & the uv sun cover as well which are fantastic. We've had ours 12 mths & still looks like brand new. Very roomy for bubs/toddler. Heaps of recline/upright positions. Huge storage area underneath the pram. Great for shopping.

Sorry forgot.....we used to put it in the boot sideways.

It probably would fit in with front base resting up on the back seats (if you took your hatch boot lid thingy off).

If you go into any store that sells them, you can always take the demo one out to your car to try out (we did this & then ended up buying one online for cheaper)

i have an astras but i have a beema Q which is pretty bulky. I have the tether strap at the side and i can just slide the pram in underneath it easy.

When i first had bubs the car seat was in the middle and i soon got sick of un doing the starp every time i needed the pram so i moved it to the side

we have a mazda 3 and we wanted a mountain buggy. We ended up going with the swift, it is just a mini version of the urban and it is a fantastic pram.

it should fit however if not the swift will for sure and the new model of that also has a bassinet. It is much lighter and smaller wheel base so will fit through stores easier. Try and find a store that stock the NZ made mountain buggy was well. That way it will be the great quality.
