BF and period

I just wanted to know if its possible to get your period if you breastfeed full time?
my dd is 8 weeks old and ive breastfed full time but think i may have got my period? unless theres another reason for blood appearing?

I got my period back when DS was 6 months and I was still BF him full time.

He was actually attached when it came :laughing:

Got mine when DD was 7 mths (she cut out 1 single feed & that's all it took for AF to appear)

Yep normal - some women get their periods back almost straight away and others don't get it back for years!

Got mine 16 weeks to the day she was born and exclussively breast feeding -just thought I would mention you may want to think about contraception if you are not wanting another bub right now :laughing:

lilbird i posted the same thing about 3 - 4 days ago.

I started bleeding again 4 weeks after delivery, went to the GP about it who sent me to emergency for an ultrasound thinking i had retained products from the delivery.

the bleeding wasn't very heavy and i had said it was much like my period but none of the dr's would admit it could be that given that i was producing so much milk BUT exactly 3 weeks later, right on cue, I started bleeding again - yup it was my period.

Definitely consider contraception as you could be ovulating again already...scary thought isn't it!!!

oh and yes I am exclusively breast feeding!

Yep def possible, I fell pg with #2 while exclusive demand bfing, co-sleeping when #1 was 5mths, no solids, no comp bottles and no dummy!
