EWCM and timing of O - really sorry TMI!!!

I've been using OPKs for ages and always seem to get positive readings each month. Although I've only just started keep track of these things, I'm pretty sure I've always got my positive OPK readings on the same day or a day earlier than when I see EWCM. I've had very scant CM for about the past four months, but yesterday I was so excited to see a lot of EWCM (big blob - sorry I told you it was going to be TMI). I've only ever noticed a lot of EWCM on one day a cycle (I've read that number of EWCM days per cycle diminish at 30+?), but that has always happened around the time when I'm getting confirmation from an OPK. But I've had no +OPK, and EWCM seems to have gone (no slippery feeling when I wipe any more, although I had a feel inside and pulled some out and it still seems to be a bit stretchy inside). All of that leads me to my question: is it possible to have peak ECWM day two or three days before O?

Chicken - It sounds like you are ovulating right now!!! Get your man into bed and do the horizontal dance! :smiliedance:

My understanding of OPK's is that your LH levels surge 1, 2 or even 3 days before you ovulate. So if you are getting results on OPK's a few days before you are noticing EWCM then that is definitely good news!

The stretchy kind of CM, the stuff that strings out like mozzarella cheese is the kind you get when you are ovulating... So get bedding chicky and hopefully in two weeks you will have a BFP to show off! :thumbsup:

Yes, but that's my problem - not +OPK before EWCM, but after? I've always had +OPK before on previous cycles, but not this time and can't figure it out why I'm getting EWCM and -OPK. Oh well, I'll know for sure what's going on in a couple of days I suppose.:detective:

Maybe you missed your surge. Do you test once a day? If so you may have missed the LH surge and therefore got a negative. You should be ovulating with the cm and all. I would get to bding just in case. Some sites online suggest that you test twice a day.

I definitely didn't miss my surge, because I finally got my +OPK yesterday morning, which means I'm probably Oing about now - a full three days after my EWCM. Oh well, at least I O'd.
