I just noticed this morning that DD has 3 molars now...2 of which I only discovered today while brushing her teeth.

I began to think, now that she has more teeth...I should be stricter about brushing them!

So...just wondering how often you brush your bubs teeth and their number of teeth and age. I think all are relevant to each other.

DD has 11 teeth now, and they only get brushed 1-3 times a week...because it's such an new thing (all her teeth sprung up at once) and I forget to do it.

DS is twice a day with me. After breakfast and after dinner
DD i am wiping her mouth with the flannel and a smidget of the kids paste to get her use to the taste ;) every day usually before her last bottle. (she falls asleep for the night on her last bottle)

Now if only i could get DP to brush his teeth atleast once a day...

I brush my sons teeth after his bath every night. He only has 6 teeth (2 just came through), and I got him use to brushing very early on. When we get him out of the bath he points to his tooth brush and goes "daattt", so its a little hard to forget....lol

While he is in the bath every night. I have found it a good habit to get into, and he seems to "like it". I brush for a while and then he has his turn like a big boy!

Same here, DS loves brushing his teeth, it's just part of his bath-time routine now!

I have been trying to get DS to brush his teeth since he was 12 months but he wont let me brush for him. I just give him a toothbrush and let hm do it himself while doing mine. Only prob is that he chews more than brushes. I try to most days if he is still awake when I do mine.

2 times a day - DS is 18 months old and has 12 teeth

(although this is only a recent routine, he didn't let me brush before so I was only able to wipe with a cloth, then oneday he got the brush and just started wanting to brush himself.)

I had a phone call from my friend today and she told me that her daughter who is 4yrs old was having some work done to her teeth. Her back molars were decomposing due to her daughter having a milk bottle in her bed before sleep. She said the sugar from the milk is eating away her daughters teeth.

Her dentist said to brush twice a day even three times a day too. If children snack throught out the day to have some water afterwards to rinse some of the food off.

I only brush DS teeth at night but will now be doing it at least twice a day

Hi
DS is 16 months and has 8 teeth, with 2 more about to crack thru. He brushes once a day so far,I tried the kids Colgate with it, but he doesn't like it, so at the moment we're onoly brushing his teeth with water...not sure how to get him to take the toothpaste though...any Ideas?

Gribel... just wondering how much toothpaste you are using.. my dentist said to only use a really small smidge... maybe this might help.. otherwise there is a Macleans brand called "Milk Teeth" which is designed for babies.. maybe you can give that brand a try?

DS has had four teeth for a month now (they all came through in one week when he was 10 months) and we brush every night after milk feed. Some nights I must admit that if he falls asleep I let him go to bed without it :shame: naughty mummy.

After reading this thread I think I'll be more diligent and do it after brekky too.

Hi Kooy

thanks for the tip, I will try the Macleans one and see how he likes it.
Riley has a bottle to go to bed with, so he normally fals asleep staright after that. Not sure what the pro (if any) and cons
:shame: are with that, but that seems to be the easiest way to make him go to bed.

Anyhow, thanks again for the tip!

I brush DS's teeth every night in the tub. I let him have some first to suck on, then it's daddies turn. He opens he mouth and let me brush away (usually). He's 20mths now and has about 16 teeth.

I give DS the brush everynight in the bath, but i cant brush them. He just chews on it. Hopefully that is doing some good?
