Hi everyone,
My DS2 will be 4 mths next week, and I am wondering about solids. I thought I would give him time to get over his 4mth needles(it took 3 days last time), then start on some farex.
I have heard some bad stories about reflux babies and solids, because of intolerances. I thought I would take things very slowly, only introducing one new food a week. Just wondering what others experiences have been? Should I even contemplate this now or wait a while longer?
Thanks,
Jacqui

Both my kids had reflux. DS much worse than DD.

I started both on solids early to try and help the reflux - but it didnt stop the spew! :(

Both grew out of it naturally around 10 months.

Neither had any reaction to foods.... DS is fussy (very fussy) and DD eats great. DS I was careful to follow all the guidelines on food introduction, DD I was a LOT more relaxed.

You can only try - you'll soon know if things arent working! :barf:

PS - both my kids HATED farex!! I just used it to thicken pureed fruit after about 2-3 days!!

My DS is over 9 months old and still has reflux even on solids. We just tried different things each day and he has been fine. Somethings make him throw up more than others so you get to know pretty quickly what to keep clear of. PS. Orange food stains the carpet when it comes back up. So be aware of that. lol

My DS is still suffering from reflux even with solids & will till the end of time.

In all honesty, dont push the solid point. Wait for him to start looking for food, DS was almost 8 months before he started.

There are foods that we have to stay away from, not for intolerances but because they are they are trigger foods & cause the reflux to flare up.
