Yesterday I went to the toilet and noticed I had been bleeding. Not a lot but enough to be a light period...and to worry me. The bleeding did stop after an hour. A girfriend took me to the birthing suite at the hospital where I did a urine test. It came back with something in it...i don't remember what the doctor said now but it meant that i could have a bladder infection. I had been having pain across by belly all day...on and off..and sometimes sharp stabbing pains...then the pain localised to my front lower right hand side to my back right hand side. It was quiet painful and uncomfortable. No movements would ease it. Anyway I had an internal examination...kinda like a pap smear!! which absolutely hurt and I must have been shaking for a good hour after the doctor did it. Anyway everything came back clear and I was sent home 4 hours later. The pain stayed until 11.30 that night - around 8 1/2 hours. Anyway this morning there has been no pain...but not much movement from bubby....her movements have changed and arn't as frequent. I have been feeling her kick for awhile..since 16 wks. Anyway once again in the toilet noticed that i have had a bit of spotting. Not sure if this is due to the internal exam or not...but there is not pain with it. Has anyone had any similar problems? The pain i am talking about has been there on a number of occasions and i am guessing it is muscular. Am still worried though. Just a feeling I have I guess....I am probably being to paranoid. just wondering if anyone can relate?!?!?!
Cheers...Jess

Hi
I am 22 weeks at the moment and awoke to a little bleeding today. I did have slight brown spotting at 10 weeks which turned out to be fine. But nothing stops you worrying I know. I still fear going to the toilet but am trying hard to be positive. The baby is still moving lots even at this moment when on the internet.
My suggestion would be to go back to your ob and get checked out again.... to hear your baby heartbeat does wonders...... to alleviate the worry. I chose not to have an internal the first time I noticed a bit of spotting and opted for an ultrasound instead. Ask for an ultrasound instead if you felt the internal was uncomfortable and painful for you.
I have been online and reading other threads related to bleeding in late pregnancy and this forum does put your mind at rest to some extent.... but you should go back for a check up if you are worried.
Good luck and I really do know how you are feeling. I hope all works out fine.
:fingerscrossed:
PS My EDD is 4 days after you!!! 19 December

hI
yesterday i had some bright red spotting in the afternoon and had had sharp pains on my lower right hand side all day. My dh asked me to go to the drs and so i got in to see the nurse who asked my dr to come in. she gave me an u.s and all was well with the baby and placenta. She cant explain what caused the spotting but said not to worry unless it gets heavy and the pain gets worse but she thinks i have prob pulled a groin muscle. Anyway i have the big u./s on thursday so hopefully all will be well then.
I hope the bleeding has stopped for you. mine ended up being a one off but i still get nervous about going to the toilet just incase.
