DD1 & DS have had a pretty bad nappy rash since wednesday last week. Its now moved to a blistered rash. We've been putting paw paw, bapanthin & sudocream on them since than. Bio carb in the baths.

Does anyone else have any ideas for a treatment untill i can get to the GP on tuesday?

Could be thrush??

You can buy Daktarin nappy cream with anti fungal in it over the counter at the chemist.

Like to hope not, we just got rid of thrust from the Girls.

I do have left over meds in the fridge for it though.

I don't know if you would want to use powder or not. I didn't want to originally. But I did try some Curash powder that someone had given me at my baby shower and it works so well. I have never had to use it on blisters but it might work well and let their little bums breath a bit. Hope they get better soon.

Im not concerned what it is, as long as it works.

To be honest, they've had that much stuff pumped into them its not funny. The thought of it makes you want to :barf:

Triple i had my DD who had a bad rash and I tried everything too and in the end we had to go to the GP.

She had thrush! We got the right medication and it was cleared up in about 2 days!

Maybe just try and keep it as dry as you can until you can get to the GP.

Do you have an after hours GP service you could visit or have come to the house? In QLD there is one and they will usually bulk bill children under 16 for a house call. Maybe worth a try if you think they need help straight away?

Good luck its so difficult isnt it!

You need Desitin. Available at the chemist. Its basically a stronger version of sudocream. My doc recommended it when my son got a bad dose of nappy rash. It is amazing stuff.

DD1 had a shocking case of it years ago....I dressed her in skirts to air the area and dealt with the mess.....twice as much mess for you though. :barf: We ended up using hyrdozole I think, over the counter at the chemist. LOTS of fresh air and filtered sunlight will also help, if you can keep them still long enough.

COver the floor with towels and let all three go nappy free for as much of the day as you can. DD had the blisters once and this was the only tyhing that worked. It seemed that covering it up with lotions and potions just made it worse (and hurt her to apply them),

I would use DAktarin too, it has the antifungal and the zinc as a barrier. Get the big tube and slather it on, you only need to apply it like maybe every second nappy change because its really thick and protective.

We're going to the GP this afternoon.

The cause of the rash is acidic nappies from a corn over load a week ago, need to bind them up & stop the 12 dirty nappies a day.

Ive put DD2's birthmark cream on which has helped.
