HI everyone,

I have a 14mnth old dauighter and we have a great breastfeeding relationship.

I am 10 weeks away from having my next baby and I am starting to get nervous.

The plan is to tandem feed. Im not at all woried about that!

What I am worried about is how DD1 will cope whrn im in hospital...

She is on a feed before morning and lunchtime nap and before bed at night.

The daytime feeds she probabloy wouldnt miss too uch for a few days, but her bedtime feed is the problem!

Our routine at the moment is Bath, story, wrap (yes she is still wrapped), then feed till she is 99% asleep then i put her in the cot and she generally sleeps through the night.

When im in hospital the plan is for DH to bring her up around 6pmish and i will give her a feed, then he will taker her home and bath, story and bed, but i just dont think its going to work. The times i try and put her into bed this way she just freaks right out and cries and cries.

She has never taken expressed milk out of a biottle. I thought abut giving this a go again, but i dont know if id even be able to express any really. My supply has been up and down being pregnant and all.

Any advice ladies????

Good luck with your 2nd bundle.

A couple of suggestions for you:

Perhaps If you try your plan and see if you can express enough for a little extra top up for when she gets home - you may find a sippy cup works better rather than a bottle if she has never used one before.
You might find that your DH has more success with a changed routine than you would too they seem to settle better with out the feed if it is someone else - well my two have anyway.

Perhaps your DH could have given her her bath before he comes up too so it is just story wrap and then into bed esp if she is already sleepy after the journey.

Not sure what else to suggest but she will cope and so will your DH - the worst that happens is he has to sit and cuddle her till she goes to sleep and that isn't the end of the world for a couple of nights.

I am sure she'll be fine :goodvibes:
