Hi Everyone, I am just wanting to ask where would be best to advertise a home business. I have been working from home now for several months but things are still pretty slow. I have already put an ad in the local paper, but as I live in a pretty small town, it didn't quite give me the response I needed. I was just wondering where else would be a good place to advertise either on the net or otherwise. I mean, where would you look to find work from home opportunities?
I thank you for any and all suggestions.
Lisa
Hi there
Where you advertise would depend largely on what type of home business you have! If you share the nature of it, I'm sure we can come up with some suggestions for you...

Hey thanks for wanting to help. I do customer referral for a company that sells toxic-free, tea tree oil based products. it's not a pyramid scheme, nor am i trying to sell the products. i use the products myself, and i recommend that others covert to using them as well as they are safer to have in the house and around kids.
i earn my money with the people i refer.
So have you got any ideas where would be best to advertise such a business. it's just hard, because so many people are afraid that it's like a pyramid scheme, but it's not. and it's totally risk free cause there's a 100% money back guarentee on everything involved.
i appreciate your help.

Hey,
I'm with them too and have never looked back. I don't make much money from it, but it's worth it for the great products.

No-one has answered your questions. I don't have a MLM business myself, but I know you have uplines. Ask them and if they aren't really successful ask the people above them, keep asking till you find someone in your line that is successful. They will be happy to talk to you as they will remember being where you are.
Is there a co. policy about the internet? Set up your own webpage - don't worry if you don't know how it's easy when you go step by step.
Do you go to a play group - ask if you can do a demo. Other places, markets, red cross or charity morning tea (i went to one once and they had a few of these businesses advertising). Can you give away a sample product as a prize for some sports event in turn for a stall?
Good luck and don't give up - the answers are out there but you'll only find them if you keep going.

Hi Lisa, you know Huggies/Kimberley Clark (the nappy folks) has its website in australia? and im pretty sure that they provide a site where small business people esp parents can advertise their business?
You have to be a member I think to participate. And its free of charge. PM me if you want the website as I dont want to be in trouble to post the website here and no I'm not a member of huggies or knows anyone who works for huggies, this purely passing on the knowledge :)

Does this company give you any business back up at all? It seems silly to have you out there trying you butt off with no support at all.
Do you have a sponsor or team leader that can give you help and ideas?
The company I am with give me constant, valuable support any time I need it. There is free training in business building and any number of things I want. To be honest I don't know how successful I would have been without this, especially as I am new to the whole working for myself stuff. I even have a business manager of my own to help me build my business to the point it is now and far beyond.
can you find a mentor of some sort? I can tell you really have your heart in this - there's nothing worse than feeling alone in you crusade.

Why don't you check out your local library? I bet they have some books on small business, marketing etc.
Try "The Beauty of Business" I thinks its called, about lots of women in direct selling etc, it's great - all about customer care and such. It's by an Australian woman, if I can find it (I've just moved) I'll post the author, I think her name is Cynthia Kaplan actually.
