Hi All
not sure if this is the right spot to post this! Just back to bubhub finally because I have the time again!!

At four weeks post delivery I started bleeding (after I had stopped completely two weeks after delivery) - a trip to the doctor landed me in the emergency dept for an ultra sound to see if I had retained any products from the birth.

All tests came back clear - I asked if this could have been my normal period returning and was pretty much given a flat out no - as I am producing a lot of breast milk, and exclusively feeding.

But NOW - exactly 3 weeks later I am bleeding again.. DUH of course it's my period???! Right??

Has anyone else had their period return so very very quickly whilst they are breastfeeding??

I had mine return almost straight away (my post partum bleeding only last 4 days and got AF a few weeks later) and I was exclusively breastfeeding. I also managed to fal pregnant!

Make sure you get onto some contraception if you don't want two babies really close together! LOL

I started my period 4 weeks after birth, 3 weeks after the period after birth stopped and have had it every 3 weeks since and I had a hungry little man was feeding every 2 hours for the first 4.5 months. Just be careful, unless you want another baby :), because now you now you are ovulating every month. :p

I got mine after I stopped BFing around 12 weeks I think. I'd get checked out!
Good luck.

thanks ladies, seems I'm not the only one which was what i was trying to establish!

miss_vicki - yes I am expressing (I am exclusively expressing DS didn't attach) about every 3 hours, even during the night. It's rare I'd go any longer than 4 hours at any time. I already had the ultrasound etc because they thought it was retained products from delivery, I asked the dr in the ER and he said he wouldn't be that, and I spoke to the GP when DS went for his 6 week check up... she didn't say anything!!

I'm not concerned at all now, I'm pretty confident it is my period - I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one!! oh and contraception is definitely in place!!!!!!!!!!
