I've just read a couple of the below posts about what words bubs can say and how they can forget things when they learn newer things. Anyway I am a little concerned about my 16mth daughter's speech development. She understands a lot of what I say but really doesn't seem to want to use too many words. She'll start using something like "bath" but then will forget it.
So my question is what is the best way to encourage her? I go through the house and point to things and repeat what they are (she won't try and say the word though), I try to read to her but she refuses to sit still and listen and just wants to turn the pages so I sing and talk to her as much as I can. She knows where most of her body parts are and was starting to say them but will only point now.
Every week my FIL asks me is she talking yet, what words does she say (this bugs the hell out of me as it's the same answer and I feel he's judging my ability to teach her stuff). So overall I'm a bit concerned and not feeling like I must be doing my job properly :(
