I'm a little concerned about 1yo DD. She has't been drinking as much milk lately.

Today she only had one cup (125mls) of milk. Is it normal to cut down this much, this quickly? I was planning to drop her lunch time cup (as she has been pushing it away), whilst keeping her breakfast and dinner cups but today she only wanted to drink water.

Is it possible for her to drink too much water? Today it was 600mls, yesterday over 800mls and the other day over a litre. Is this a bad thing? It won't give her water poisoning? DH was worried about this.

She has cheese and yoghurt and heaps of vegetables for calcium. Plus she has at least 4 SOAKED nappies everday.

I think it should be fine. Is it really hot where you are as atm, the weather where I am is a joke. The heat is shocking. Sounds like she is getting enough dairy anyway. It could be just a faze as well. I know I definately prefer water over milk on a hot day.

Zephani, my DD is 12mths & is BF. All this week, I have only been able to get her to take 1 BF per day. She seems to be self weaning off completely (she has weaned herself down over the last couple of months to 2 feeds per day).
She too drinks heaps of water.
I also try to get her to have calcium in other ways, ie yoghurt, cheese. Yesterday I tried to get her to have a cup of cows milk, but she refused it after a couple of initial sips.

Maybe it's just this age! I'm relieved that someone else is struggling with the milk drinking too! I'm hoping that 1 drink of milk is enough at this age?? Anyone know if it is??

Another bump!

Aries7 - I'm also glad that someone else is in the same position with us.

My friends on FB have been posting that its ok and that DD is self regulating and that as long as she is having cheese and yoghurt and leafy green vegetables she will be fine.
