Hi Guys

I am confused to the amount of EBM to feed my daughter. I was given a formula to use to work it out based on her weight and age but this was only really specific for her til she was 10 days old. ATM she is taking between 60-70mls during the feed she gets at night when I am unable to feed her myself. All other feeds she gets are from me and she is having 7-8 feeds a day (including one bottle of EBM at night) She is now 2.5weeks old and I am wondering whether I should be giving her more?

Does anyone know of a formula or table that tells you how many mL's i should be expressing for her? I have tried to find something online but all I can find is conflicting info.

Thanks

Kate

Hi Kate

The formula to use to work out how much your baby needs is:

150 x baby's weight (in kgs) / no. of feeds per day

You will probably find that your 60-70ml is plenty!

Hi,
This is the formula to work it out:

weight in gms x 180 (this can range from 150 - 200) then divide by 6 or 8 feeds per day.

My CHN told me that babies up to 6 months need about 900ml a day...sometimes they will have more, sometimes they will have less.

If you are only giving a bottle during the night, I wouldnt stress to much, just let her drink what she wants.

Oliver will drink 180-250ml during the day, but only ever drinks 100-130ml at night.
