View Full Version : What did you do the day before your elective c-section?
 Just wondering, if you had a booked elective c-section, did you do anything particularly special the day before?
I am going in for mine on Monday so tomorrow is my last day of "freedom" so to speak  My plan is to sleep in, clean the house top to bottom and to make sure my bags are packed for the next day. Nothing exciting I know. DH and I may go to my parents for dinner but not sure yet - depends on how tired I feel.
So what did you do, if anything?

I had my c-section on a tuesday.
Monday i went and did the food shopping, went and saw some friends.
Monday night hubby worked night shift so i changed bedroom around. unpacked and repacked bag several times. Got Hailee's room ready for when she went in there coz i thought i wouldnt have it done in time (she is almost 11 weeks and still not in there so dont know why i was worried LOL nerves i say)
Tuesday mornin i had to be at hospital by 7am so before i left i showered and cleaned house and did a load of washing.
Lookin back i think i had to keep busy coz if i didnt i would have been a mess. ( Emergency c-section with Kobi and it all went to sh*t durin and after c-section did hold Kobi til he was 3 days old coz of my recovery process and my after affects of c-section lost way to much blood in theather coz they clipped and atrery)
Well thats what i did before c-section. lookin back i wish i had takin it easy but hey i cant go back now lol.

This was six years ago, but I did three weeks worth of school work so I didn't fall behind (distance education) and I went and stayed at the hospital that night. If I have to have a c section this time, I am definitely relaxing and doing something special!

I went to get my nails, eyelash tint, waxing and hair done because i knew it would be a while before Id get the chance to do all those things once the baby was born.

Spent the whole day trying to get DS2 to turn around so I woudn't need the c-section. Didn't work.
Interesting stories :)
Orelander - that sounds like heeeeeaven!
I ended up cleaning the house yesterday so today I am having lunch with my parents and then just a quiet night with DH. Nothing exciting really but I did have a nice sleep in :)

You could start a journal, talk about your preparations, how you're feeling and continue it once bubs is born. I had the best intentions to do it with mine and never did, wish I did though, you forget some of the little things. It is a great gift when they are older.

I did a Garage Sale for my friend :D
Then cleaned the house top to bottom, something I assumed wouldn't get done by anyone else but me after bubs was born........
My prediction was right!

I did do that too actually. I wrote a letter to my baby when I was 5 months pregnant, and I wrote in my pregnancy journal and wrote another letter to my baby the night before, while waiting in hospital. I have since written a few more letters to him, and they are carefully stashed away until he is older.

I think we ordered take away, rented a movie and enjoyed our last moments of being just the 2 of us without any kids.
I was induced with DD, so knew she was coming too lol I spent the time with DS snuggling up and that night cried because he's not going to understand whats going on.. he's just a baby (he was 20 months :o)
