Okay guys....here is what is happening....please help!

I have introduced a dream feed and its working in one way.....Oliver is now only HUNGRY one waking before 7am, but he is still waking 3 times!

He wakes at around 1am - around 330am (feed) - around 6am.

I get him up at 1 and 6 change his nappy and put him back to bed. This works, he goes back to sleep....but unfortunately mummy still gets wide awake and doesnt sleep well....plus i DONT want to create a new waking habit.

How do I settle him in his cot?

Mum told me that I should him to cry 1 minute longer every night and eventually he will decide its not worth it, but I dont know how much that will work for us....1 it will be horrible for Steven and I, and 2 he tends to work himself into hysterics if you dont pick him up within 2 minutes or so!

All hints and tips would be appreciated!!!!

Cheers,
Kat :D

Hi Kat

The resettling technique that we use and find successful for us is to roll the babe on his side and either pat his back or slightly body roll him. He loves sleeping on his side so I leave him that way (I tuck a small pillow into the crook of his back and later when he is asleep asleep I roll him back). If he begins to cry I do pick him up.

I also lean in close to him, so that he knows that I am there. I am not a crier person, so I dont let babe cry or cant handle him crying so I work with softer approaches.

The hardest part is finding a technique that Oliver will like. They do have a preference!
