Hooray! I made it to 2!

My DD turned 2 yesterday and I made it to my goal of breastfeeding her for 2 years! I feel quite pleased with myself, especially as I found breastfeeding quite hard for the first few months. I am so glad now that I persisted with it though.

Good luck to all of you who are struggling with it at the moment, I found it helped to just try and get through each day of feeding and take each day as it comes, and then one day it just suddenly becomes easy (and it wasn't until about 4-5 months for me).

I also struggled terribly for 6 months only to have my girl to wean!!!

Its so great when you reach a goal like that. I still miss feeding my LO.

I did it for 18 months with dd1.
Do you think you will keep going?
I was the only one left breastfeeding in mothers group. Many had allergies and had to go on some kind of formula some even goats milk!

Even if you get down to one feed a night or something...that bond is so special!
I really missed breastfeeding dd1 when I gave up. It was a difficult 18 months...esp the first year shed wake many times a night and used feeds as comfort. Very draining.
We have a feed play sleep routine for dd2 now and hoping to last at least 12 months. Initially with dd1 I was hoping for 6 months! and just kept surprising myself the longer I went.
