View Full Version : Did anyone here do a gender sway? If so, was it successful?

Just wondering if anyone here did a natural gender sway, with the PH, diet, timing, etc. And if so, was it successful? I'm kinda hoping the whole sway thing doesn't work. Reason for that is that I wanted a girl this time around so I went out and bought everything I needed to sway. Digital PH tester, vitamin supplements, digital fertility monitor to tell me the best time to conceive, everything. Only to find out I'm already pregnant! So considering that in the end I did absolutely NOTHING to sway, and that my diet is more 'boy' friendly, I'm kind of hoping the whole sway thing doesn't work. What are your experiences?

We tried to gender sway for a girl, we did diet, timing, etc. Conceived 3 days before O, and guess what - we are expecting our 4th BOY!

we swayed the second time for a girl, lowered ph (or raised it? Cant remember any more!!! LOL) did lots of things... and we did get a girl. THere are lots of boy/girl combos in my family tho so I dont know if it was because of the sway or not? I think its luck of the draw really!!

We weren't swaying but we dtd 5 whole days before O and got a boy. Not sure I believe the relationship between gender and timing at all after that

My friend had 3 boys and was TTC a girl. She changed her and her huband's diet for ages before and charted for 12 months. She dtd a few days before ovulation and turns out that during that cycle, she ovulated on that day and conceived her 4th boy.

We kind of swayed for a girl when we were TTC DS2. When I say kind of, I mean we really only relied on timing (and even then I think we got a bit too close to O for it to be a proper girl timing sway anyway).

The last day we DTD was on CD13 and I think I O'd sometime around CD15, so in theory it should've leaned more towards girl.

However, since researching GS methods much more in the past year, I've discovered a lot of things we were inadvertedly doing that were boy friendly, which included: me drinking green tea which increased my CM (I had lots of good quality EWCM in the few days leading up to O), both of our diets were naturally quite boy friendly (I hate drinking milk, I eat lots of salty foods, etc), DH was drinking 2+ cans of coke per day plus energy drinks such as Red Bull etc, I O'd and conceived a day after there was a full moon, and on one of our attempts we used preseed lubricant. So I shouldn't be at all surprised he was a boy!

Not that I'm "disappointed" anymore (I admit I was a bit upset when he was born and I found out he was a boy), because DH really wants a girl so he is willing to TTC#3 next year :smiliedance: If DS2 had been a girl I would've had bugger-all chance of having a 3rd bub :sunshine:

So in my case I'm now glad things turned out the way they did :D

Good luck, I really hope you have your little girl :cloud9:

we sort of swayed towards a girl this time around but won't find out for another 4 and a bit weeks. its driving me completely insane not knowing. either way this is our last bub so i've come to terms with the fact that if its a boy then dh will owe me BIG TIME :D

Hi, Im assuming you would have had your baby by now, I was wondering what did you have a boy or a girl? When I was trying for my 2 girls, we werent doing the whole swaying thing, but my diet has always been salty, and I heard that salty is best for a boy. I have been reading Dr Shettles Method and we are going to try the timing thing for our 3rd to try and sway for a boy:fingerscrossed:. I still do beleive that you are going to have what you are meant to, but it would be nice to conceive a boy this time as it will be our last, and I guess if I never try it I'll never know. Regardless as long as they are healthy Im happy.

Hi, Im assuming you would have had your baby by now, I was wondering what did you have a boy or a girl? I am only 9 weeks along so I still have no idea of the sex, but as I said in my post, if there is any truth to this whole swaying thing, it will probably be a boy. I have really irregular cycles so I have no idea how close I was to ovulation when we had sex, but my diet is very boy friendly. Oh, and we would have been using KY jelly as lube, and thats not very conducive to a girl. The annoying thing is that I actually have a bottle of the lube you're meant to use to conceive a girl (Sylk) but my partner hates it so we wouldn't have been using it around the time I conceived. Ah well.

Im so sorry, I musnt have read it properly, well time will tell wont it. Im trying the whole gender sway theory, my husband thinks Im crazy he doesnt believe in it, I wish it didnt even exist Im finding it too stressful:hair: & boy are my periods irregular.

I dont think the whole diet thing works, cause I eat alot of salty foods and I ended up with 2 girls, Im going to try the timing and pre-seed which is supposed to be more male sperm friendly.

Gosh it was so relaxing conceiving my girls, cause there was no thought in swaying, but I guess I wouldnt mind trying as it is going to be my last.

:fingerscrossed: hope you get your girl.

My sis did the whole "batting" for a boy with her first, and for a girl with her second - and it worked. I don't think she changed her diet, more to do with timing.
We didn't do anything particular except "try", and had a girl first up, then a boy. In fact I'd say we did exactly the same thing. We didn't find out gender before birth with either - having said that I really thought I was having a girl with dd but everyone said it was a boy, and with ds I had no "feelings" as to gender at all.

I wish it didnt even exist Im finding it too stressful I know what you mean! When I started reading about all the things I had to do to make a girl I almost wished the whole theory didn't exist because it sounded like so much work and stress. Now I still wish it didn't exist because I didn't get a chance to do it and if this baby turns out to be a boy I will think its because I didn't gender sway. At least if I had done it and the baby still turned out to be a boy I would know I did all I could IYKWIM. Blah. Time will tell I guess. Hope you get the sex you're wanting. I'm guessing from your post that you're wanting a boy? :fingerscrossed: for you.

Miss Sixx, I realise how frustrated you must be that you didn't get a chance to do a proper gender sway before conceiving this bub, I would be so frustrated too. But if it makes you feel any better, I visit another forum where some women have done very full on gender sways with personalised plans, specific dates to TTC according to their personal energy, lunar phases, diet, pH, etc etc - pretty much everything you can possibly think of to use when it comes to swaying (which is what I also hope to do next year), and they've still conceived the opposite gender. Then there are other women however who've done basic sway, using only one or two methods such as diet and pH, or diet and timing, etc, and have been successful. So I guess it does go to show that it doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll get what you hope for, and that sometimes it probably does come down to chance afterall.

But I do understand that desire to at least give it your best shot. Good luck, I really hope you do have a little girl coming your way :sunshine:
