Hi, I am new to this forum and would like to wait with you all. I have 2 boys and want a girl. We have just been trying a couple of cycles, but I am already fustrated. I have long and irregular cycles so the waiting is so hard. I am on cd1, yeah, af showed this morning on cd40. My ovulation date isn't until like the 25th, so here is to another long month I guess. I am a little disappointed today because my last two cycles were 37 days and I had sore bbs and a little nausea and so of corse when my period didn't come I assumed I could be pregnant, but nope she came this morning, 3 days later then should have. So anyone else have such a long wait like me or just want to pass the time??

Hi, kristy, yes our bodies can play tricks on us. It took me 3 years to concieve my last son so I don't know why I got my hopes up but I did. Our kids are the same ages, only I have boys. How long have you been trying?

We started June/July but sadly it ended in m/c at 5.5 weeks.
So we are going to try again.

Kristy, I am so sorry about your loss. I have a friend who just miscarried in Dec., it was horrible for her and everyone. She has concieved again and is at 22 weeks right now. Her due date is Dec. 1st, the same day she lost the baby. I do wish you lots of luck on your journey and a healthy happy baby!

Alicia, I know how great my boys are, but I have always thought I would have a daughter. I am nervous about trying for a girl again because dh makes boys. He also has a son from previous marriage and then my 2 boys. I am not sure if there is a girl in there or not but I thought hey why not try one more time!

I have read a little about the Shettles Method. I know you are suppose to bd 2 to 3 days before ovulation for a girl. Problem is with my long cycles predicting before I ovulate is hard.

Like you, I am trying for a girl this time but am not confident of getting one as DH's family seems to only make boys. I've read a lot of information on how to make girls and am doing everything I can to increase the chances that I will. :fingerscrossed: we both get our beautiful girls this time.

I'm also getting frustrated with the long wait to get pregnant. DS was concieved in the first month of trying but since his birth my cycles have been irregular. I'm on CD42 today and haven't had any sign of AF arriving yet. I'm finding it hard to tell if I am ovulating and am going to the dr tomorrow to see if I have this month. I have been tired all day and :barf: at night for about a week now but have had 4 BFN's so I'm sure its another month down the drain.

Tomsmom, I really hope it is your month and that we get our girls. I know how you feel with the long cycles. It seems you wait so long to just ovulate and then the tww. It just takes for ever, and then when it is late you always think for sure this could be it. So disappointing. Hope to talk more and good luck with a BFP!

No BFP for me as AF arrived this morning. I'm actually relieved as it means an end to a frustrating cycle and the beginning of a new and hopefully successful one. :fingerscrossed:

Hi wantagirl,

I am also TTC (hopefully a girl) I have a gorgeous 7 year old son who means the world to me, but I am one of three daughters and have always envisioned myself having a little girl, I had a M/C in June and we are desperately TTC again. (made very difficult by the fact that my body doesn't want to play the game I haven't had an AF since the MC.)

Just some things my family has told me in reference to having a girl all old wives tales I am sure but would love to know if any of you had heard these.

- Electricians do not have boys as the electrical currents kills the boy sperm (I think I can discount this one as my DP was working as an Electrical Trades assistant when DS was conceived.)

- Scuba divers do not have Boys- (same theory I think the diving kills the Boy sperm)

- Coffee drinkers do not have girls (maybe thats why my Electrician DP and I had a boy cause he drinks a lot of coffee.)

- eating pink iced donuts Ggives you a girl - hmm not sure what the theory is there my SIL told me.

:) :)
